A mountain full of country is what some of the tourists have called Austria. The reason being that two third of the territory in the country is occupied by the Alps. Austria is breath taking in all respect. The country is beautiful with its ice capped mountain peaks. There are vast green plains that you would love in summers and there are snow clad mountains where you could go skiing in winters. There are a few Ski resorts across the country and it is a favorite with most of the visitors.

Any time of the year is a good time to visit the country as you have different options at different times in a year. The good part is you always have an option. If you are here in winters you would enjoy Ski sports and a lot of other activities. If you are here in summers you could go mountain biking and trekking and also explore the calm and cold lakes or visit the valleys for a peaceful experience.

The country has a rich culture that is bound together by its artistic excellence and simplicity of coffee and pastries. Coffee and pastry is a part of Austrian culture altogether. That also brings me to cuisine. The country is majorly known for its sweets and pastries across the world but Austria has more to offer. The country’s cuisine employs modern yet simple methods of preparing food. The best part of an Austrian meal would no doubt be dessert. Austria serves the best European dessert and has a wide range of those to offer.

The shopping here in Austria would mean getting hooked on to small crafts and pottery. There are a few departmental stores and a lot of farmers’ markets and potters’ markets. That means you would be charmed by the kind of things you could buy here. A shopper does not have much option of shopping malls however you could easily secure a piece of real Austria from the potters market. They make for great souvenirs. The country also has an active night life.

Vienna

The capital city with all the attributes of a capital city stands tall and magnificent in all respect. It would be great for you to visit Vienna. There are so many shopping and dining options that you would feel flattered. The night life is pretty active and lively. It has a long history that dates back to Roman military settlement. What I could assure of is that you would have fi=un while you are here.

Salzburg

It is an old town and you could see visible remnants of past reminding you of how things were when the town originally came into existence. The place is welcoming and a good choice to buy your supply of Austrian food to be taken back home.
