The young and small country of Slovakia could be regarded as a big town concentrated around the capital city of Bratislava, rather than a country. Slovakia is the place to be if you are looking forward to a fully fun packed vacation over a weekend. In the country you would not be required to travel much. Just be at the capital city and then the whole of the country is yours. You could be experiencing sports, night life, music or other cultural events, thermal spas or old and magnificent castles, all in but one country itself. It is a more like a taste of life for the visitors rather than a a vacation. Slovakia as the name suggests is very stylish and it has a taste of its own, unique, brilliant and rich.

While shopping in Slovakia, you might find yourself in a supermarket or in a leisurely shopping centre. The best thing here is that there is much on the offer by the country itself. In the towns and the capital city, you would not feel as if you are in a Slovak market altogether. The cities have rapidly developed since the end of communalism. Slovakia of mid twentieth century was more of a tribe than a town. Now, a lesser observant man like me could mistake the capital city for a world class capital. This side of Europe has its own brand and you could end up purchasing some sports clothes or things like those while you are here. What’s better is that you have a good option to buy souvenirs a little towards the north of the country. It makes your shopping desires come a full circle.

Slovak cuisine is influenced by its neighboring countries and has influenced on theirs as well. The Slovaks like to have potatoes, milk, milk products, locally grown mushroom, pork, meat and onions. That is what makes Slovakian cuisine popular and interesting. Along with these, there is a wide range of vegetables and fruits on the market. Overall, the cuisine here is filling and nutritious. The Slovakian cuisine varies a little from territory to territory. The style of food and the choice of food here have always been such that the villages have been self sustainable. Never importing or exporting.

European countries are culturally rich and historically interesting. Slovakia fulfills that standard with its small size and yet magnificent history and amazingly interesting culture. There are a lot of theatrical events you could go to while you are in the country and also an array of night clubs and musical events. The nightlife is good and it is just plain simple that you would have fun staying up all night in Slovakia.

Bratislava

The capital city of Slovakia sees the major crowd of foreign visitors. The city is friendly, warm and welcoming. Anywhere else in Slovakia, which is on the village side, foreign visitors are rare and thus, you would need to be careful if you are travelling beyond the capital city. The city would offer you a wide range of restaurants, night clubs, hotels and bars to choose from. The city comes alive at the fall of dusk and ravishes through the night until dawn. If you are young and would like to just have fun, this is the place for you. Just be here, taste the best alcohol, be with the best crowd and settle your scores with the boring routine life in one go. I love the city more than any other city of the country.

Piestany

There is a quite spring thermal spa resort here and it is very famous for curing arthritis. The place is quite and is a jackpot to anybody who is looking to spend a relaxed vacation. The city has beautiful recreational centers and rejuvenation parks for you. It is a favorite with visitors travelling in small group, with a purpose.

Kosice

The industrial area of the country and it offers you the metropolitan Slovakia. Life here would be urban and fast. You need to find your own reasons to be here as people come here for all sorts of reasons ranging from recreational to informative to educational. The city has a history to boast of and several structures to flaunt.

Trencin

The city would appeal to your aesthetic side almost the same moment you set your foot on the soil of Trencin. The city has the oldest and the most beautiful castle. The city is strikingly beautiful, surrounded with forests and valleys. Trencin consumes you and absorbs you like an oasis. It fills you with a certain kind of an energy.
