There are not enough words in the English dictionary so as to capture the exquisite beauty of Finland in words. However, that is exactly what I am trying to do here. I am trying to paint a word picture so that you could get a slim hint of what you are up to when you plan a Finnish holiday. Finnish people have a high esteemed mindset. They are a way too much into designs and crafts. If you are fond of decorating your home with reminders of your holidays, his is the place for you. A gleam of Finnish design could transform your drawing room. It is the cultural treasure of the country that makes so much of difference to the lifestyle here and that is what the major attraction is. Though, I would still want to take you through a list of important city of this huge country. The country is the eighth largest country of Europe, in terms of land area. However, the country is sparsely populated.

The Finland as we know today is a lot different from what it was decades ago. Finland today is modern and interesting. The country has adapted to the changing time really well. The cuisine here is majorly haute and the spices used are a collection from east and west which makes the food here a great experience. Live and eat Finland if you want to tour Finland. Continental food with a lot of barley, oats, rye and berries is what you would get here for your hungry stomach. Food for the growing up mind as we call it. Fresh vegetables and milk and other dairy products are popular and thus we could say that the food here is healthy and hearty. You would love eating here.

Let us take a look at the major cities and attractions that we should keep finger marked while travelling to the country.

Naantali

The city was this is where the tourism of Finland begins. The city is located in south western side of the country. The city was established in the year 1443 and the church constructed at that time still dominates the skyline of the town. You could very well say that it is one of the oldest towns in the country and this is where you would experience the Finland of old times seasoned according to current times. While here you could see the old town harbor, Street view in the summertime and the Naantali church, which is one of the oldest monuments in Finland.

Helsinki

The Finnish town with a lot of architectural taste of its own. I would call it the town of aristocrats and important people of the country. The town is located on the southern side of the country, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. I would say this has to be checked and captured well by the end of your Finnish tour.

Turku

It is the oldest city of Finland and is settled in the proper of the country. Turku is situated at the south western coast of the Finland at the mouth of river Aura. You could visit all the churches and museums here.

Tampere

The scenic beauty of the city is indescribable. The city is situated in between two lakes. The levels of the lakes differ by 18 meters and thus, it takes care of all the electricity needs of the city. The city is the third largest of the country and would be a nice place to visit any time of the year.

Savolinna

The name means “Castle of Savonia”. If you are out on a peaceful holiday, you would be glad to be here. The city is situated in the middle of the lake and thus, the beauty and serenity of the place could be matched by none other.

Rovaniemi

The city has always been a hit with tourists visiting Finland. Known as the cultural and administrative capital of Finland, the city has numerous recreational opportunities for you. I could say that it is one of my personal favorites.

Kuopio

The city is famous for its cultural life. A lot of people come here to learn various forms of dances and music. In case you have a highly developed sense for music and dances, you could come here and stay for some time so as to take back a part of Finnish culture from the city.
